The Story Of My Journey
Lindsay’s childhood involved participation in sport from an early age and coupled with a growing interest in human biology in school, it was no surprise her career in adulthood would be guided by these early influences. Specialising in gymnastics and competing on a national level cemented her interest in the human body and movement. At the end of her competitive gymnastics career, Lindsay continued to teach the sport at foundation level and this teaching passion has also influenced her work today. She is compassionate, caring and patient in her work.
During her time at University, Lindsay developed a chronic knee injury and was referred to a Biokineticist for rehabilitation. It was here she gained knowledge and experience of the profession and saw how rewarding the job was. Lindsay changed University course to pursue her degree in Human Movement Science, completing it Cum Laude and gaining acceptance into the Honours program to continue her studies in Biokinetics. After completing her Honours degree, she returned to the practice she had been originally treated at to complete a year-long internship and gain more hands-on experience of the profession. During this year she was able to apply the theoretical knowledge she had gained at University and put it to use assessing clients and prescribing exercises. By correcting the imbalances discovered and returning the body to better function, Lindsay is able to have a positive impact on her clients health. Providing a life-changing improvement and returning a person to a level of daily activity they hope for is a huge driving force for Lindsay and something she aims to achieve with every client she works with. Lindsay specialises in orthopaedic injury but also has experience in treating neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s, MS and stroke.
After moving to the UK in 2016, Lindsay continued to develop her education in human movement by completing a Level 3 qualification in Matwork Pilates in 2018 and a Pre/Postnatal exercise qualification in 2020. She also continues to participate in further education by attending webinars and keeping up with the latest exercise guidelines and clinical rehabilitation protocols to ensure your treatment is current and successful.
Lindsay’s passion for movement and science along with a personable teaching style have allowed her to create a friendly but professional and knowledgeable environment for you to feel comfortable in.
